Ms. Fyles developed a passion for working with children in the healthcare setting at a young age. Ms. Fyles attended Colorado State University and received her degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Life. Ms. Fyles completed her clinical internship, certification, and later was hired in Long Beach, California. This is where Ms. Fyles developed her interests in travel and learning about various cultural beliefs and practices as they related to healthcare.
Early in her career as a child life specialist, Ms. Fyles pioneered several new psychosocial support programs. This includes programs in a pediatric intensive care unit, an emergency department, and a small community hospital. Ms. Fyles returned to her home state to work at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. She has continued to deepen her expertise in child and family friendly healthcare and grief and loss support programs. She developed programs in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit supporting patients and siblings. In her current role in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Ms. Fyles delivers clinical interventions supporting patients and families through extended treatments as well as grief and loss. Additionally, Ms. Fyles shares her knowledge and experiences through training and mentoring child life practicum students and interns.
Mrs. Fyles’ passion to help children heal in a psychosocially and developmentally supportive environment drives her desire to support global missions that do the same. Standish Foundation for Child and Family Centered Healthcare is a natural fit for her commitment to this mission.
Ms. Fyles enjoys many hobbies including cooking, travel, and enjoying the outdoors.
